2023 Barbie Lunar New Year Doll

In an exclusive partnership between Mattel and renowned Chinese couturier Guo Pei, the 2023 Barbie Lunar New Year Doll was created. This collaboration produced a resplendent two-piece couture look inspired by one of Guo Pei’s past collections. Draped in classic Chinese royal blue with sumptuous dragon embroidery, the doll balances artistic heritage and contemporary innovation through Guo Pei’s signature craftsmanship. Golden earrings, a sparkly statement ring, and gold-colored pumps complement the custom creation. Released on January 5, 2023, I was part of Guo Pei's design team, contributing to the design of this stunning Barbie doll.
